Members of the Taneda Karate Dojo competed at the B.C. Provincial tournament on May 28 and 29 in Richmond.
Rita Becker, is a green belt with a black stripe, is competing in the women’s masters division. She won bronze in Kata and bronze in Kumite in her division.
Micka Becker, also a green belt with a black stripe, is competing in the ages 14-15 division. She won bronze in Kata and bronze in Kumite in her division.
Takeshi Smith, a blue belt, competed in the boys ages 15-16 division. He won silver in Kumite.
Kevin Taylor, an orange belt and is competing in the adult division. He won gold in Kata and silver in Kumite.
Caitlyn Riddle, a green belt with a black stripe, will be competing in elite division to become a part of team B.C. at age 12.
Alex Wensley, a yellow belt, competed in the ages 15-16 division. He finished with gold in Kumite and bronze in Kata.
Jacob Slizek, a blue belt, competed in the 14-16 elite division. He won bronze in both Kata and Kumite.
Simonka Slizek, a brown belt, competed in the 16-17 elite division. She won silver in Kata and bronze in Kumite.
Tavian Gauduso, a green belt with a black stripe, competed in the ages 10-11 division.
