On Friday Feb. 10, the Summerland Jets U11 Blue team travelled to Penticton to face the South Okanagan Rattlers.

These two teams had met before and again it was a close game.

In net for the Rattlers was Tatum Jones. Throughout the game he made spectacular saves.

A highlight of the game was when the Jets, were short-handed (Oliver Nichol had a penalty for hooking.) There was a two-on-one breakaway and Jets’ defence Kira Vancha broke up the play.

The Rattlers’s best player is Ryley McGinnis. The Jets learned their lesson from the last game and she was more closely checked this time.

Another outstanding Rattler was Kole York.

Summerland’s best goal was off the stick of Callan Hantelmann, set up by Jake Hagen.

The Rattlers’ three stars were Kole York, Ally Thom and Gavin Lemiski.

The Jets’ three stars were Kenleigh Derry, goaltender Blake Shewchuk, and Ben Schelter.

Immediately after the game, parents from both sides requested a rematch.

The Sunday match-up was different. The Summerland coaches made up two teams; a mixture of U9 and U 11 players.

The game featured four sets of brothers. Each team had one brother.

It was Heath versus Atticus Skinner, Nolan versus Harvey Barker, Wyatt versus Gibson Langlois and Gabriel versus Cedric Boucher. It was an intense and entertaining game.

The three stars were Bryce Hotson, Berkley Schenn and Gavin Wise.
