Summerland hosts women’s tennis tournament

The Lakeshore Racquets Centre hosted the annual Credit Union Cup women’s doubles tennis tournament Sept. 16 to 18.

This was the 24th year of this tournament and participants came from Vancouver, White Rock, Kamloops, Vernon, Kelowna, Penticton and Oliver.

Summerland was also well represented with ten members from Lakeshore Racquets Centre participating.

The Summerland and District Credit Union sponsored this tournament and has supported tennis in the community. The tournament also received donations from Lunescence Winery, Okanagan Crush Pad Winery and Meyer Family Vineyards .

A Division: Winners Maureen Chale and Sandra Blair, Kamloops; runners-up Nieves Windley and Kim Kopp, Oliver and Penticton.

B Division: Winners Nikki Charlton and Kim Erikson, North Vancouver; runners-up Linda Elia and Cathy Ingram, Summerland.

C Division: Winners Jacquie Hertlein and Erin Mulhern, Penticton; runners-up Dana Stenerson and Angela Larkin, White Rock.
