Summerland golfers compete in league play

Summerland Golf and Country Ladies Club and Summerland Senior Men’s Club hold weekly events

Summerland Ladies Club

On May 21, the Summerland Golf and Country Ladies Club counted low gross and low net scores.

First flight: First low gross Linda Brussee, 87; first low net Vijai Vaagen, 75.

Second flight: First low gross Diana Leitch, 105; second low gross Pat Stohl 113; first low net Norma Chambers, 75; second low net Maribel Rothfield, 79.

Summerland Senior Men

On May 23, the Summerland Senior Men’s Club played an all net scores event.

Dave Smith from the second flight was the overall low net winner with a fine 66 while Greg Flook and Bob Tamblyn led their respective flights. Greg, Bob, along with Len Good and Neville Crane shared the deuce pot.

First flight: First low net Greg Flook, 68; second low net Jim Haddrell, 69; third low net Doug Steinke, 74; fourth low net Alf Vaagen, 75 cb.

Second flight: First low net Dave Smith, 66; second low net Jeff Clarke, 67, third low net Neville Crane, 71; fourth low net Nick Coe, 72.

Third flight: First low net Bob Tamblyn, 72; second low net George Carswell, 74 cb; third low net Herb Williams, 74; fourth low net Reg Minty, 76.
