The Summerland Badminton Club held a grand reopening on Saturday, Feb. 24, with a good crowd in attendance.

The reopening was to showcase the new floor, newly-insulated ceiling and updated viewing lounge.

The two courts were in constant use during the event, and spectators got to see some pretty good play. Several new members joined the club as a result of their attendance.

The renovations were supported by the province through the British Columbia Canada 150: Celebrating B.C. Communities and their Contributions to Canada grant program.

Considerable hours were donated by volunteer workers.

The youth program for 2018 began on Feb. 28. All youths are encouraged to join at no cost, as the Summerland and District Credit Union has made a donation to cover youth memberships.
