Skaters win medals at Kamloops competition

Members of the Summerland Skating Club earned medals at the Skate Canada Super Series Autumn Leaves competition in Kamloops.

Members of the Summerland Skating Club earned medals at the Skate Canada Super Series Autumn Leaves competition in Kamloops.

A total of 10 members from the skating club competed at the event, Oct. 21 to 23.

In Star 2, Sara Goodall and Emily Goodall each earned bronze.

In Star 3, Erin Hipolito earned gold while Lacey Doerkson and Danica Hipolito both finished with silver.

In the Star 4 U13 category, Lauren Bitte earned gold.

Jocelyn Erdt finished in sixth place in the Star 5 U13 category, while Kaylee Fortunato finished eighth in the same category.

Patricia Fortunato finished 10th in Star 8.

Sabrina Fortunato finished in 11th in Gold Ladies. She also finished with a new personal best score of 25.50.

Saki Smith finished in fourth place in the Star 6 women’s category.
