The Summerland Jets pre-novice team recently played their first two games of the season.

For most of the players these were the first games of their hockey careers.

Goal scorers for this game were Ben Hrncirik, Russel Weatherhead with 2, and a hat trick for Asha Cave. Carter Rolston had a scoring chance but it was foiled by the buzzer.

Outstanding effort was shown by Cooper Heggie, Carson Hooey and Carter Rolston. With a recent outbreak of the flu, the team called on Simon Cecconi and Kieran Kielty to help out.

The next weekend was the team’s first road trip to Osoyoos where the Jets came back in a hard-fought effort and won the game 6 to 4.

Goals were scored in this game by Russel Weatherhead, Parker Keehn, Owen Moseley with 2, Dane Bilenki and Sheldon Biggley.

Kieran Keilty helped out again.
