Pinnacles FC Excelsior players will get coaching from Canadian Soccer Hall of Famers

Pinnacles FC Excelsior Academy teams will get coaching from Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame members Aug. 14 to 18.

PFC is welcoming Andrea Neil, Nick Dasovic and Lisa White, who will train the Excelsior Academy teams. Neil is a Canadian Hall of Famer and pioneer in women’s soccer. She retired after representing Canada more than any other Canadian player in history. She has coached the Women’s National team and the UBC Women’s team.

Dasovic is a former Canadian International who played 63 times, which included World Cup qualifiers, Gold Cups and the Confederations Cup in Japan. He spent most of his professional playing career in Europe. Dasovic has had the privilege to not only have played for Canada but coach Canada’s Men’s U 20 and U 23 National teams. Also a Canadian Hall of Fame member (2011) Dasovic is also a 2012 member of the Team of the half Century. Dasovic provides commentary on Vancouver Whitecaps games.

White is a Canadian Interuniversity Sport (now known as U Sports) national champion in 2004 with the Trinity Western University Spartans. She was assistant coach for the women’s UBC Thunderbirds from 2013-15 and spent six years coaching at Concordia University. Neil and Dasovic will also provide a coaching seminar open to all PFC coaches. The pair will also provide an informational session on what it takes to be an athlete.

During those days, UBC and UNBC will have their training camps for the women’s teams and play an exhibition game at Kings Park. The PFC 2000 to 2003 born girls will also get to train with the university coaches.
