Penticton Vees head into final weekend tied for first in league

The Penticton Vees play tonight in the first of their final back-to-back games of the season.

The special pod season will wrap up first with the final game against the Trail Smoke Eaters at 6 p.m. on Saturday, followed by the final game against the Cranbrook Bucks at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Following the final game, the Vees will present the season’s awards on Monday.

Vees fans will have a chance over the weekend to vote for the Fan Favourite Award until 7 p.m. on Sunday.

The Vees have had a dominating season of play, picking up 16 wins, with five shut-outs over the season. The team faced only a single regulation time loss, with the other coming in a shootout.

Penticton is currently tied with 33 points for first place in the BC Hockey League standings with the Surrey Eagles. The Eagles only have one game left to play as the Vees look to take the top spot overall.

On Monday, the team will unveil the recipients of this year’s awards for the season. The thirteen awards are listed below.
