Peewees win at home

Summerland Nesters Market defeated Westside #2 in a 10-9 home game in Peewee A action on May 7.

Pitching for Summerland were rookie Zack Chermsnok, Austin Groot and Dawson Jenner.

Summerland had the home game. Westside scored two runs in the first after Chermsnok walked four players.

Then a Westside player hit a base run scoring the second run.

Summerland came back and scored two runs at the bottom of the first after one hit and three walks.

Second inning Westside scored two runs on two hits and Summerland scored two runs on four hits.

In the third inning, Groot pitched and walked four runners and Westside scored four runs on one hit.

In the bottom of the third, Summerland came back and scored four runs on earned four hits.

At the top of the fourth inning, Groot threw 16 pitches, struck out two batters and walked two batters which led to Westside 2 scoring one run on multiple errors.

At the bottom of the forth, Summerland got two hits and earned no runs.

The fifth inning was the open inning where Jenner relived Groot and struck out all three Westside batters on 13 pitches. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Westside stuck out the first batter, Joseph Campganaro. Second batter, Danny Grant was walked after a 3-1 count then stole second base.

The third batter, Spencer McIntosh, was left at the plate after Grant stole third base, then home after a pass ball play at the plate.

The team now has at two losses and three consecutive wins.
