The Princess Margaret Secondary School Mustangs wrapped up their season at the recent BC Boys AA High School Basketball Championships in Langley.
Ranked number eight in the province, the Mustangs finished the tournament with a record of two wins and two losses.
Maggie, Okanagan Zone champions and who went undefeated in the regular season, dropped their first game of the tournament in overtime, losing 90-84 to St. Thomas Aquinas of North Vancouver, the number nine ranked squad in the 16-team tournament. The loss moved them into the consolation round for the remainder of the event.
The Mustangs got back on the winning track on the second day with a 85-76 victory over Okanagan Zone rivals George Elliot Secondary of Lake Country and followed that up with a 67-48 decision over Clarence Fulton of Vernon, the other Okanagan Zone qualifier.
In the final game to decide ninth place overall it was the Mustangs and the number-three ranked Southridge Secondary of Surrey doing battle.
In the end however Southridge prevailed 71-56.

The championship game was between Charles Hays Secondary of Prince Rupert and King George of West Vancouver with Hays scoring a decisive 67-45 verdict.
In the game to decide third and fourth place, it was Brentwood College stopping Lambrick Park 81-52.
Of the three Okanagan Zone entries, George Elliot had the best overall finish, winding up in sixth spot, losing 83-75 to St. Thomas in the final game to decide fifth and sixth place.
Elliot turned out to be the dragon slayers in the first round; the 14th seed topped the number three Southridge entry 79-60 to advance to the winner’s round.
They were also the only team to land a player on one of the two all-star teams, with Bergren Van Lent earning a spot on the second team all-star squad.
