Mustangs basketball disarm Rockets, move into second

The Maggie Mustangs defeated Summerland to even their season record

A decisive victory over the Summerland Secondary School Rockets moved the Princess Margaret Mustangs into a tie for second place in the South Zone AA boys basketball league this week.

The Mustangs toppled the Rockets 70-56 in Summerland Wednesday to improve their record to two wins and two losses and one tie.

The winners had five players hit double digits in scoring, Will Casimir-Eneas and Anand Brar led the team with 13 points each. Matt Olsen added a double double with 12 points and 13 rebounds and Jayden Capp netted 10 points.

“Overall I think sound defence and everybody sharing the ball were the keys to the win” said head coach Dan Van Os.

The Mustangs will be back in action again Jan. 16 when they host South Okanagan Secondary School in a league match starting at 6:30 p.m.
