A group of hard working KISU Swim Club members have been recognized for their efforts, having been named Swimmers of the Month for February.

The five, that includes international students Nils Cuypers of Germany, Cecelia Vilches from Spain and Greta Zapparoli of Italy, along with locals, Acacia Benn and Brooklyn Follestad, were selected for their participation and overall improvement.

According to club spokesperson Jody Fotherby, the international students chose the KISU Swim Club Swim Academy specifically to enhance their water skills and abilities.

All three attend Penticton Secondary School as exchange students. Benn and Follestad also train at the academy.

Next up for some members of the club will be the Canadian Olympic Trials in Toronto from March 30 to April 5 and which will also serve as a vehicle to determine a national junior team to compete in this summer’s Pan Pacific Championships in Hawaii for countries that border the Pacific Ocean.
