A combined Summerland-Penticton team of junior curlers has won a berth to the B.C. Winter Games.

Coached by Brian Lyall from Kelowna, the team consists of Summerland players Matthew Lowery (skip) and Jacob Martin (lead), and Penticton players Ryan Trip (third) and Zack Kuechle (second).

In a playdown at Kelowna on the weekend, the team lost a close first game, then won three games in a row to qualify.

The B.C. Winter Games, for athletes under 16 years old, will be held in Kamloops Feb. 22 to 25.
