The Summerland McDonald’s Atom Development Squad played an important league game Jan. 8 and surprised the Westide Warriors with a 6-2 victory.

The Jets jumped out early and often with four goals in the first period by Mitch Gove, Rylan Campbell, Mereno Coco and Jason Scherban.

Coco had a helper in the period as did Duncan Robinson who had a tremendous game for the Jets.

In the second period the home team continued to pour it on with two more goals including a beautiful end-to-end effort by Liam Trewhitt.  Gove scored his second to wrap up the scoring after some hard work by Logan Bubar.

In the final period the Jets sat back a little and let the visitors take the game to them.

The visitors still managed to score twice but it was all they could muster against the goalkeeping tandem of Andrew Rolston and Braedan Switzer who both arguably played their best game of the season.
