Athletes compete in karate tournament

The Taneda Karate Dojo hosted its 10th annual Friendship Tournament in Penticton April 16 and 17.  

Athletes represented Burnaby, Prince George, Fort St. John, Chetwynd, Hudson’s Hope, Penticton, Peachland, Summerland, West Kelowna and Kelowna attended.  

There were a variety of talented athletes competing aged five years to more than 60 years of age.Some of the athletes were national and world champions of Chito-Ryu Karate.

Of those who train in Summerland, Claire Boothe was the Female Grand Champion, Anne Ross was the winner of the Senpai Julie Spirit Award and Jackson Tribe won the Sportsmanship Award.
