Organizers hope to run Summerland Fall Fair next year

For the second year in a row, Summerland will not have a fall fair, although organizers are hoping to bring back the event in 2017.

For the second year in a row, Summerland will not have a fall fair, although organizers are hoping to bring back the event in 2017.

The Fall Fair began in 1909 and continued until 2014. It was held each September, on the weekend following the Labour Day weekend.

Tim Broesch, president of the fair, said the members of the board had been working to bring the fair back for this year, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Earlier, the committee had discussed a partnership with another community organization, but the agreement did not come into place.

Now, with only four members on the board, Broesch is hoping to bring the fair back for next year. “This has been such a struggle,” he said. “All we need are a few more key people.”

Those interested in serving on the Fall Fair committee are asked to contact Broesch at 250-494-1800.
