On-call veterinarian needed

Why should we have to drag our sick animals to Kelowna when we have two veterinarians in town? Could they not take turns to be on call?

Dear Editor:

On Nov. 20 at 2:30 a.m., I lost my beloved dog, Angel.

I understand I was not the only one to lose a pet that weekend. It is a terrible experience to go through.

On the weekend, no veterinarians were open in this town. Why should we have to drag our sick animals to Kelowna when we have two veterinarians in town? Could they not take turns to be on call?

We have a lot of senior citizens in this town who are animal lovers and do not drive.

I would like to thank Critteraid, friends and neighbours who were there for me.
