Dear Editor:

The Summerland Legion was the victim of a break and enter after Remembrance Day.

The response from the public with donations has been heart-warming. The GoFundMe campaign exceeded the $5,000 goal by $811. Cash and cheques are still coming into the branch. Apparently, people understand and support the good work Legions do.

On behalf of the Summerland Legion thank you very much.

This is a list of donations the branch made this month.

• Summerland Food Bank $5,000

• Summerland Youth Centre Association $3,000

• Broadmead Care* $2,000

• Brock Fahrni Extended Care* $2,000

• Air Cadets Squadron 902 Nighthawks $500

• Summerland Boy Scouts $500

• Summerland Guides $500

• Summerland Special Olympics $500

• Agur Lake Camp Society $500

*Care facilities for veterans for a total of $15,000
