Dear Editor:

Yay Summerland for submitting a motion to the Union of B.C. Municipalities urging provincial and federal governments to mandate the use of compostable stickers on produce.

Plastic stickers ruin our compost across the country and also it cannot be good for our health to have plastic glued to our food.

Plastic stickers should have been banned years ago when the negative health effects of chemicals in plastics and PVC came to light.

Thank you Summerland, hoping your motion succeeds with flying colours and non-toxic glue.
