HARRISON, WALTER Born March 25, 1923 in Glasgow, Walter Yuile Sharp Harrison died May 2, 2008 at his home in Kelowna. After serving in the RAF, Wally immigrated to Canada and in 1956 married Patricia Jean Corley of Vancouver. They moved to the Okanagan where Wally worked in the insurance industry, but made time to build a new house for his now growing family, tend to his potato field in the back yard and take up the local hobby of wine making. After retiring, Wally vigorously pursued his love of driving spending much time exploring the highways and backroads of the Pacific Northwest. Predeceased by brother Alistair and wife Pat. Wally is survived by his children Joe (Linda) and Gloria Knowles; grandchildren: Lindsey, Megan, Natasha, Joel, Amber, Alysha Knowles, Gordie, Daniel and Kim Harrison. Loved by all who knew him Wally will be remembered as a hard working, independent, critical thinker, who expressed compassion and generosity in everything. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 20 at the Lake Country Alliance Church, 12025 Oceola Road, Winfield, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation, 2268 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 1T2.
