1920-2021  ~  A Summerland pioneer since 1945, long-time resident Vida "Vi" Farrow (nee Soderberg) passed away peacefully on Nov. 28 at her home that she helped build and decorate. She was a few months shy of her 102nd birthday. She passed with her son John and daughter Grace by her side.
She was predeceased by her husband Harvey Farrow; parents John & Mary Soderberg; brothers Roy, Walter and Aylmer; sister Manny; beloved great granddaughter Shari Lethebe Hall of California and niece Faye.
Vida grew up in Saskatchewan and excelled in whatever she partook in such as sports, singing in bands, playing guitar and piano. Once she married Harvey, she enjoyed being a homemaker excelling at sewing, decorating homes and cooking/baking especially her mile high sponge and angel food cakes!
Vida lived her life with dignity and was dedicated to her home and family. She was the matriarch of the family; her grandchildren and great grandchildren always called her place "home" spending many summers there.
She is survived by her devoted son John; daughter Grace; grandchildren Len and Chris Lethebe of Alberta; great grandchildren Jeromy, Cord, Cole, Britt and Madison Lethebe and also Jesse Cassidy, all of Calgary; Brett Hall Lethebe of Tennessee; niece Rose; grandnephew Donnie and sister-in-law Lola.
We would be remiss if we didn't extend our thankfulness for the palliative care and compassion from all those that helped treat her in the past 3 months. They rendered a great service to her and our family.
A special thank you to Dr. Allen. We would also like to recognize and thank our neighbour Terry as well as Brother Gorner and the ladies from the Church of Jesus Christ, we believe she lives on with her family that predeceased her in happiness. We remember her melodic voice singing "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" each Sunday morning.
There will be a family graveside service this summer to honor her life.
"Never to be Forgotten"
