Victor Alexander Parker passed away peacefully on June 13, 2011 at the age of 96 years. Survived by sons Warren (Vonda) and Bryce (Shelley) of Summerland, BC, daughter-in-law Terri of West Kelowna, BC, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, brothers and sisters Gordon (Frances) of Penticton, BC, Roberta (Jim) of Vernon, BC, Donalda (Walter) of Surrey, BC. Sadly predeceased by wife Mary, sons Robert and Gene, brothers Lloyd and Gladstone. Born in Moose Jaw, SK in 1914, Victor moved to Summerland in 1926. A machinist by trade, he started Parker Construction and worked on many water and sewer projects throughout BC. Victor was responsible for the re-emergence of golf in the early 60’s when he built Sumac Ridge Golf Club. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer. He will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with whom he spent many happy times. Graveside service was held on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, 775 Lower Bench Road, Penticton, BC, with Pastor Larry Schram officiating.
