It is with great sadness that the family of Sheila Robertson of Summerland, BC, is announcing her passing at the age of 64. Sheila was born March 14, 1957, in Edmonton, AB, and passed on January 21, 2022, at Moog and Friends Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her loving husband Wayne Blashill of 20 years, children; Andrew (Michelle) of Oliver, BC, Collin of Kelowna, BC, and Tiah (Kelly) of Summerland, BC, grandchildren; Knighton, Aryana, Bridget, and Sophie, brothers; Dennis (Janet), and Geoff (Judy), and sisters; Nancy, and Judy (Shaun).
Sheila was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Betty Barnes, brother-in-law Don, and nephew Wesley.
The middle child Sheila loved her family all through life. Memorable trips with her sisters and Mom, family dinner functions, or just a visit for tea, she was always happy to make time and memories.
In her 30's after raising her two sons, Sheila went on to UVIC and got her Bachelor of Social Work. She was then employed by SOWINS, as a counsellor and outreach worker for the next 28 years.
Sheila felt she made a difference with her work and co-coordinating SOWINS 'Share the Spirit of Giving Campaign' since its inception and then stepping down just 3 years ago.
Sheila spent the best part of her life married to her husband Wayne. From renovating their house, spending time in their back yard, traveling to beautiful and exotic places, or a drive through the Okanagan Valley on a sunny day. They always cherished their time together.
Sheila will be deeply missed by her family and everyone she touched. The family would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses, Support Staff, and Moog and Friends Hospice House for all their caring, empathy, and support through this tough time.
