ROY CLYDE STEWART

November 12, 2016

Roy Clyde Stewart came into this world February 6, 1929. He was a devoted father, friend, mentor, sage, investor, husband, dancer, millwright, walker, cruiser, builder, provider, hunter, fisherman, and raiser of Bassett hounds. Dad spent his childhood at Tsawwassen and at his father’s Fish Lake camp. Upon high school graduation at Summerland, Dad attended St. Margaret’s Sea Training School in Nova Scotia whereafter his father referred to him as a “squid”. Following his 30+ year career with Continental Can, Dad spent 25 glorious winters in Arizona. He walked his own path and led by example. Dad passed peacefully surrounded by family November 12, 2016. Roy left behind son Alan, daughters Sharon and Fern, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandbabies. He is predeceased by his parents and 3 sisters. What a completely magnificent fulfilled life! We miss you already! You are there! Thank you to the staff of EF wing at Summerland Seniors Village for their exemplary care and for treating Dad like family. A service is to be held late spring 2017 in Summerland - TBA. Condolences may be directed to the family through providencefuneralhomes.com
