April 5, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Thomas Richardson, who died peacefully on April 5, 2025, at the age of 88.

Phil was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Eva Richardson, and his brother, Robert Richardson. He is survived by his children, Verna McCullough (Darryn), Mike Richardson (Catherine), and Rick Richardson (Lorraine); his grandchildren, Rory, Tasia, Conner, And Chase; his great-grandchildren, Ryder, Rowan, and Charli; as well as his nieces and nephew, Peter, Patricia, Sandra, and Nancy.

Phil moved to Summerland from Vancouver in the 1950s with his parents and settled in Garnet Valley, where he created a lovely home with a beautiful garden and a few apple orchards. He spent many years in this cherished place, where he enjoyed nature and his work in the community.

Phil worked many years as a firefighter with the Summerland Fire Department as well as an Agriculture Inspector for Agriculture Canada. His passion for the outdoors led him to enjoy gardening, fishing, and all things nature-related, bringing him joy and fulfillment throughout his life.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honour on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11:00 am, at the Summerland Legion. Condolences may be left at www.providencefuneralhomes.com
