Paul Peter Therkildsen Reinholdt passed away in the wee hours of April 1, 2025 in Penticton. Paul was born the last of four children to Peter and Esther Reinholdt in 1931 in Bassano, Alberta and was raised on the family farm just west of Hussar. He and his dad ran the farm by themselves when his brothers served during WWII. When Paul was done with school, he went to Calgary and apprenticed with a cabinetmaker and tried a few other trades and he took classes at night. In 1953 he met, dated and married Margaret Helen Cates.

About the same time, one of his night school classmates told Paul that this oil stuff was going to be big and that Socony Vacuum (later Mobil Oil Canada) was hiring and Paul signed on. Various positions with Mobil took Paul and his growing family to Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Halifax, back west to Edmonton and finally to Whitecourt, Alberta, where he retired in 1989. One of his hobbies continued to be woodworking and all of their four children have pieces in their home.

Soon after retiring, Paul and Marg decided to see what skipping Alberta winters might be like in the Okanagan and be near his sister in Summerland. And they never left. Marg became involved with the hospital auxiliary. Paul took up painting and was active with the Summerland Art Council and committee work with the town council.

Marg passed away just short of their 50th anniversary in 2003. The following year, Paul and Maretta found each other and by 2007 they were life partners to the end.

Paul was predeceased by his parents and siblings and one daughter, Katherine. He is survived by his son, Howard Reinholdt (Debra, nee Wickens), daughters Cynthia Kendall and Linda Reinholdt, four sisters-in-law, many grandchildren, nephews, nieces and great grandchildren.

Paul was cremated in Summerland. His ashes will be interred with Marg's in Calgary and there will be a celebration of his life in Calgary on a date to be determined.
