August 2, 1922 - July 22, 2021
Beautiful memories silently kept of one that we loved and will never forget! Nanette 'Nan' Thornthwaite, of Chilliwack, BC passed away peacefully at the age of 98 on July 22, 2021.
Nan was born in Summerland, BC to Margaret and Thomas Henry Thornthwaite on August 2, 1922. She attended school in Summerland and later went on to attend the College of Commerce in Penticton, BC. She worked for a number of years at BC Packers before going to work at the Bank of Montreal.
Nan lived and grew up in Summerland for the majority of her life. Even though Nan's memory was failing she made the brave decision, at 94, to move to Chilliwack to be close to her nephew Jamie and his wife Karen.
It was not an easy decision moving from a community she had known her entire life, but that was Nan, always thinking of others and making it as easy as possible for her family.
Nan is preceded in death by her sister June; brother Basil and his wife Joan; niece Jo-Anne and her husband Don.
Nan is survived by her nephew Jamie, his wife Karen and their family Mike and Jane; children Micaela and Jordyn; Jeff and his children River, Gibson and Wyatt.
Those we love are never really lost to us - For everywhere their love lives on.
