ZAHAR, MIKE. Born in Smokey Lake, AB July 19, 1928; passed away in Penticton January 14, 2010 at the age of 81, after suffering from Parkinson’s Disease for a number of years. Mike spent his childhood in Smokey Lake and later met Alva in Dome Creek, BC, marrying her in 1953. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his family. Mike will be dearly missed by his loving wife Alva, of 56 years, his three children; Rose (Brick) Betsworth; Timothy (Fatima) Zahar, and granddaughter Isherak; Merry (Kelly) Nicholson, and grandchildren; Michael, Natasha and Patrick.
