Maureen Kathleen Crawford (nee Bell) of Summerland, B.C. died peacefully on December 8th, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised in Coquitlam, B.C. 'Mo' often told stories about her childhood, working at her father's service station, family get-togethers, and camping trips down the west coast (which she didn't love).

She met her first husband while in high school and together they had two children, Dawn, and Wesley. They lived in Australia for four adventure-filled years before returning home to Coquitlam and family.

A skilled typist, she had a talent for organizing anything and everything which led to her career in the Coquitlam and Maple Ridge school districts. It was while working as a secretary at James Park that her life changed forever; this beautiful, charming young woman in a miniskirt caught the eye of the principal and stole his heart. Together, Ron and Mo had Ronnie and Mosie and raised all 4 children in the A-frame house that they built on Silver Valley Road in Maple Ridge.

Retiring to Summerland in 1998, she often hosted family and friends with wine, a rye and coke, her amazing cooking skills and laughter in the back yard on warm summer evenings. She enjoyed learning new recipes and travelling, with memorable trips to Ireland, England, Portugal and California. Mo had a weakness for flea markets and garage sales with her mom and best friends, often humming softly as she browsed. She loved British murder mysteries, all things floral, and 'Country and Western' music. Mo had unequalled patience, was eternally optimistic and always saw the good in people and situations. She had a wonderful sense of humour, was quick to smile and forgive, and was loving and insightful. Throughout her life, Mo was strong, brave and carried herself with grace.

Maureen is survived by her children Dawn, Wesley, Ron (Kim), and Mosie (Don). She is also survived by her sister June and brother Donald (Eleanor). She was adored by her grandchildren Jennifer, Jonathan, Amelia and Isla, and great-grandchildren Jules and Gabe, as well as her nieces Cathy, Vicky and Nancy and nephews Robin and Christopher. Predeceased by her 'almost perfect' husband of 39 and a half years.

To her wonderful friends, neighbours, Penticton Hospital Staff and Moog and Friends Hospice House, the family extends their heartfelt thanks for your kindness, compassion and support.

A celebration of life will take place on Sunday May 19th, 2019 in Summerland. In lieu of flowers, donations to Moog and Friends Hospice House in her memory would be greatly appreciated.

Condolences may be sent to the family at 5517 Butler Street, Summerland V0H1Z1.
