Marjorie Joan ROGERS

October 11, 2007

ROGERS, Marjorie Joan (nee McLeod) passed away suddenly on October 11, 2007 in the Penticton Regional Hospital. As her health and physical ability deteriorated, Marge longed more and more to be with the Lord. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland on the 15th off May, 1913, Marge came to Winnipeg as a young girl and there she met Frank, her loving husband of nearly 71 years. Marge never failed to count her many blessings, especially as related to her family. To the end she retained her keen interest in people and happenings around her, and she was so appreciative of the care she received from Dr. LeBel and the nursing staff as well as the visits from family friend Dr. George Bartel. Marge was able to enjoy their beautiful home in Summerland even longer than the fi ve years she hoped for and felt so blessed to have such kind and considerate neighbours. Beloved wife of Frank, Marjorie will be sadly missed by her daughter Marolyn (George) Witte, granddaughters Karen (Mark) Nairn, Elaine (Randy) MacGillivray, and Lynn (Terry) Thompson, as well as her great grandchildren Riley, Nicole and Andrea Nairn of Kamloops and Leah, Katie and Sara MacGillivray of Vernon. She also leaves to morn Joan (Norm) McEachern and family and 3 cousins in Scotland. Before moving to Westbank, Marge and Frank lived in Penticton where they operated the Five to One Dollar store, next to the old post offi ce, from 1955 to 1976. After 71 years of doing everything together, Marjorie felt it appropriate not to have a funeral at this time, and requested interment with Frank when that day arrives. In Marge’s memory, donations may be made to the Penticton Regional Hospital. Condolences may be directed to the family: summerlandfuneralhome@vip.net.
