Pronyk, Margaret Viola of Summerland, BC courageously passed away on September 13 th, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Margaret is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her family, friends and loving husband, Fred; children, Brenda (Denny) Salamandyk and Robert (Denise) Rochelle; grandson, Daniel Salamandyk and sister Lynne (Paul) Breivik. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Viola Bird. Margaret formed many friendships and business acquaintances as she was a prominent member of the community. Margaret, proudly, was a past National President of the Canadian Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs. She also took great pride in being a School Board Trustee (Thompson, MB), member of Beta Sigma Phi, and a member of the Penticton United Church Board and proudly self suffi cient business women, (Bird Bookkeeping) Margaret mentored and provided leadership to many business entrepreneurs over the years by giving them reasoned and sound advice and direction. She was a born vocalist and enjoyed many years singing as a young child in Winnipeg, and with church choirs. In her adult life she greatly treasured her time as a member of the Aurora Singers (Thompson, MB) and most recently with the Tune Agers (Penticton). Visitation for Margaret was held Monday, September 17, 2007 at 7:00 pm at the Rosedale Chapel of the Summerland Funeral Home, 13205 Rosedale Avenue, Summerland, BC. A celebration of life service was held Tuesday, September 18 th, 2007 from Summerland Funeral Home at 1:30 pm. In lieu of fl owers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Lung Association.
