MARGARET ESTABROOKS

September 1, 2010

Margaret Lorraine Estabrooks (nee Palmer). It is with deep sadness, and with not a small amount of disbelief, that we share with you the news of Margaret Lorraine Estabrooks (nee Palmer)’s death on September 1, 2010. Our Mom was born on August 22, 1928 in Sweetsburg Hospital and raised in Cowansville, Quebec. She had many happy memories of her time in McClure’s Woods, particularly cross country skiing and climbing trees. She was fiercely proud of her connection to Cowansville and to Quebec. Mom and her best friend Verna completed their RN training at Montreal General Hospital before moving to Calgary. After a short stint of nursing there, they moved to Penticton to continue their nursing at ‘the Old Hospital’. After an extended break to raise her family, she returned to nursing. Her Obstetrics nursing career was often characterized as extraordinary and compassionate, as many of you in this community who were in her care can attest. Her immediate family include Jeff, Suzanne, Kim, Trevor, Sydney, Matthew, Todd, Amy, Alex, John, Lorna, Noel, Rich, Sheila, Robin, Hailey, Kayla, Orion, Nick, Chris, Osiris, Marissa, Gauge, Katie, Kathleen, Cleo, Ticky and Don. To her extended family and friends, in particular Mrs. C and Mrs. B: thank you for loving our Mom so much. We invite all who knew our Mom, Momma, Grandma, Auntie Marg to an Open House on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Mom’s (13204 Armstrong Avenue, Summerland) between 1 and 5 pm. Condolences may be sent to the Family at providencefuneralhomes.com.

Goodnight my Love.
