Louis Andre Raphael Royer

February 22, 2007

LOUIS ANDRE RAPHAEL ROYER died suddenly on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the age of 74 years. Born in St. Louis, Saskatchewan on March 30, 1932, Louis moved to the Okanagan in 1948 at the age of 16 and worked as a logger for most of his life. Louis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bernice (nee; Marsh); fi ve children: Rick (Shari), Rhonda (Grant, deceased), Corinne (Peter) , Heath (Dorothy) and Randy; thirteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Louis had two brothers and three sisters. Louis was a private man who was always happiest while in the bush, whether hard at work, trolling for Dollies in the Kootenay's, gazing into the campfi re, or up-north hunting moose. He fancied himself a crusty character, but we who knew him loved him for the decent, honest, dedicated, generous softy he truly was. The man just loved to tease and the impish sparkle in his eye always betrayed his gruff façade. In his waning years, Louis lived for his grandkids and the highlight of Louis' day was Paul's daily visit. True to his nature, Louis requested there be no memorial service
