Dr. Lorne MacGregor passed away July 22,2017, at the age of 60.


Lorne was born in Sault Ste. Marie, but spent most of his young life in Summerland, BC, spending two years twice in Ghana,West Africa; and traveling extensively with his family. Lorne had a passion for science. He graduated from Summerland Secondary and then went on to University of Victoria for his BSc. He did his graduate work, both MSc and PhD at Washington State University.


Lorne and Joey met in 1989 and began a friendship that developed into a great love, and were married in 1993.


Lorne was many things in life. He was an intrinsically good person; loving, kind, brilliant, honest beyond measure, and had a wicked sense of humour. Throughout his career and many travels he made many close friends and earned great respect.

He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his wife Joey MacGregor, children Jesse (Katie)Couture, Jaime Couture(Nick Davis), his very dear granddaughter Lona, and Madisyn and Bentley; mother Sue MacGregor, sister Merrilee MacGregor, brothers Bruce (Linda), Wade, Gordon(Lara), as well as many beloved niblings (nieces and nephews).


A memorial will be held September 10th at 2 p.m. at the Harold Simpson Youth Centre, Summerland, BC.
