Liliam BEATON

Born May 25, 1921 in London, England, passed away peacefully at Moog and Friends Hospice House in Penticton on December 26, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Lilian was a war bride, marrying Norm Beaton in England on January 19, 1946 and moving to a farm near Paynton, Saskatchewan shortly thereafter. Lilian and Norm later moved to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan in 1968, when Norm purchased the McKenzie Funeral Home. They retired to Summerland in 1989. Lilian was a longtime member of the Eastern Star, the ‘Sweet Adelines’ and the Saskatchewan Homemaker’s Association. Lilian will be lovingly missed by her husband Norm of Summerland, three sons; Chris (Barb) of Summerland, Derek (Joanne) of Edmonton, and Colin (Susan) of Dubai, U.A.E., six grandchildren; Jason (Paula), Shawndra, Mark, Connor, Sarah and Emma, and one great-grandson, Kurt. She has been predeceased by parents William and Maria, and her brother Bill, all of England. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Alliance Church, 14812 Victoria Road North, Summerland, officiated by Pastor Rick Gay. Interment in Canyon View Cemetery, will be followed by a reception at the Alliance Church.
