It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Marie Campbell, who passed away peacefully at the Madison Care Centre, Coquitlam, BC.
She was a beloved mother, sister, friend and nurse. A calm presence with a lovely laugh.
Joy was born August 9, 1942, in Tompkins, Saskatchewan. She is survived by her brother Leonard Cameron (married to Muriel) of Saltcoats, Saskatchewan.
Joy is survived by her daughter, Roberta Pak (married to Jin Pak), and her son, Michael Campbell (married to Judith Cashore). She was a proud grandmother to Roberta's children Claire and Stephanie and to Michael's children Jack and Magnolia. Joy was predeceased by her common-law partner, Gerald "Pudge" Robson. Her first husband, Robert Campbell remained a part of her story despite life's changes.
As a nurse, Joy devoted many years to nursing in Summerland through two different locations of Summerland General Hospital, at the medical office on Main Street and then as Head Nurse at Dr. Andrew Extended Care Pavillion.
A passionate gardener, she volunteered as a Master Gardener, supported the Summerland Ornamental Gardens and was part of the committee to establish the gardens at the extended care.
No public service will be held.
She will be dearly missed
and forever in our hearts.
