It has been two years since John William (Bill) Broadbent passed away on November 26, 2017. Bill was born on December 17, 1931 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England. Bill leaves behind daughter Jane Windeler (Rob Perret); son Jonathan (Dianne); grandchildren Jennifer, Megan, Charlotte and Andrew. He is predeceased by his wife Angela. In the 1960s Bill was the head herdsman for both the dairy and bloat programs at the Summerland Research Station. He then managed the Kaleden and Oliver fruit packing houses until his retirement.
Bill walked two hours daily making time for friendly chats with whomever he met along the
way. His connection to Yorkshire was strong as he and Angela returned 44 times to England to see family and friends. Even when clouded by Lewy Body dementia, Bill still had a quick wit. Thank you to the wonderful staff at The Village by The Station.
