Our family is deeply saddened by the loss of Jack Cornett-Ching who passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2016, at Penticton Regional Hospital, with his wife, Janice and daughter Janet, holding his hands as he went to sleep. Jack was born in Calgary, Alberta on 20 June 1930 to Harry and Miriam Ching. He leaves to mourn, his beloved wife Janice of 56 years of marriage. He leaves his children, John Cornett-Ching (Linda), Joe Cornett-Ching (Gail), Janet Cornett-Ching (Darone Davis), Julie Cornett-Ching (Stephane Delisle-Lavoie), and eight grandchildren, Nathaniel, Jessica, Kyle, Sarah, Emily, D.J. Jack worked hard all his life, starting at an early age working with his father for Canada Post on the train runs in Alberta. He took a couple of years off, then returned to Canada Post, he retired as a postal Officer Supervisor with a 25 year award for service and was in charge of letter carriers. He was a member of the Penticton Shrine Club, and did a term as President. He did two terms of office as Commodore of the Summerland Yacht Club and he and Janice were the longest members of the Club since 1970.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Summerland Yacht Club, at 1:00 p.m. 14 August. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack’s name to Hope Air, Penticton Shrine Club and/or Cancer research, would be appreciated.
