November 12, 2021
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Jack Prasloski on November 12, 2021. His loving wife, Pat, was by his side - which is what Jack would have wanted. Jack was born in Abbotsford, B.C. in 1933 and lived throughout the Province: Duncan, Victoria, Armstrong, Surrey, Agassiz and Summerland. In 1955 he started his career in the feed industry which culminated in the purchase of Burgess Feeds, Agassiz, in 1974. During this time his activity with the Canadian Feed Industry Association led to his term as Chairman of the Board. Jack wore many different hats on the side: 25 years as an Auxiliary RCMP member, Jaycees, hazelnut and cranberry grower, and fertilizer producer. His innovative mind led to numerous transformations which will continue to contribute to aspects of feed, cranberry, and hazelnut production. One of his greatest assets was working with people. He enjoyed an active social life, as well as spending time in Arizona and traveling to different places in the world. His life included so many interests: hunter, golfer, hiker, gardener, and artist, but his favourite was gathering with family and close friends. He so enjoyed entertaining - you might have arrived as a stranger, but you left as a friend. He will be missed by so many. Jack was well known by all for his quick wit & humour. He was very aware of nature, noticing what many others would not, and took great pleasure in sharing his observations. Jack is survived by his devoted wife Pat, of 64 years, his loving family, daughters Kathi (Rob), Pam (Morley), Judie, and his son Rob. He had four grandchildren, Eric (Juliane), Nicole (Ken), Harlan, and Jace as well as being blessed with three great-grandchildren, Glenn, Ingrid, and Oliver. He is survived by his brother Peter and his sister Joan, as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Jack was predeceased by his brothers Bobby, Ed, Don and Walter. A Celebration of Life to be held in the Spring/Summer of 2022. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. Raise a glass in memory of Jack because "Life is Grand"
