October 8, 1927 - August 4, 2018
With great sadness the family wishes to announce the passing of Isbrand 'Ed' Fehr of Summerland, BC, two months short of his 91st birthday.

Born in Saskatchewan on October 8, 1927 to Johann and Katharina Fehr, he grew up on the family farm west of Hepburn, SK.

Isbrand and Clara were married on July 9, 1950 and began their marriage together as farm labourers. Employers had difficulty remembering 'Isbrand' and nicknamed the new hired man 'Ed', which stuck through the remainder of his life. Their oldest son, Lenard was born in 1952 and second son Walter (Sharon) in 1953.

1954 saw the beginning of their own farming experience on a larger acreage with various jobs to fill the days over the next two years. In 1956, Isbrand and Clara purchased their own farm 3 miles north of Kindersley, SK. While on the farm, they were blessed with two more children born early and late 1961. Harvey (Lil) and Shirley (Wayne) were both winter babies, first in January and second in December. In 1972, a farm auction was conducted and the farm sold. Ed and Clara, Harvey and Shirley moved to Summerland, BC and Karen (Jim) was born in December of that year.

Following a few years of various jobs, Ed began work at Capital Glass in Penticton, BC where he continued for several years. Even after leaving Capital Glass, Ed worked at his own business installing glass, windows, and windshields. Ed enjoyed having family in their home, card games, and a favourite pastime of working on his 'Avon' collection. In his retirement, Ed and Clara spent many hours recycling glass and aluminium, as well as gathering cans and bottles for donations to send children to camp.

Ed passed away peacefully, with family at his side, on August 4, 2018 at Summerland Seniors Village where he resided for the past 8 months.

He is survived by his wife, Clara, of 68 years, all five of his children and their spouses, 10 grandchildren, and many great and great great grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Summerland Seniors Village for their kind and compassionate care of Dad.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada - Okanagan/Kootenay Area Office, 4-1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9 on our father's behalf.

Ed's Memorial Service was at 1:30 pm on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Summerland Alliance Church, 14820 Victoria Rd. N., Summerland, BC with the interment immediately preceding at Canyonview Cemetery, 10316 Canyonview Rd., Summerland, BC.
