It is with deep sadness the family of Isabell Green announces her death on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Dr. Andrew Pavilion in Summerland with family by her side. Isabell was born to William and Margaret Clark on November 6, 1917 in Elkhorn, Manitoba. When she was three the family moved to Summerland where they farmed an orchard. Mom lived in Summerland from then on with her 4 brothers. Mom is survived by her step children, Sheila (Ernst) Binder and Terry (Linda) Green, her brothers, Andy of Ottawa and Bill of Summerland, her grandchildren Lisa Tavender (Kirk Hein) of Kamloops, Kimmie (Jay) Kennedy of Fort St. John, Jason (Rayna) Tavender of Penticton, Kirsten (Maik) Binder in Germany, Andrea (Serg) Leckie of Calgary, Erynne (Alastair) and Corey Green of Vancouver and Kasey Paul (Ryan) of Penticton. She is also survived by great grandchildren Jordan and Brock Kennedy, Ashleigh, Jaymie, Shania, Tyson, Jayden and Blake Tavender, Emma Binder, and Jordyn Paul. Mom will also be remembered by her daughter-in-law, Lynda Tavender, her nieces and nephews, her dear friend Audrey Layton, and her son’s partner, Diane Biglow, as well as her many friends. Mom was sadly predeceased by her first husband, Harold Tavender, her second husband, Jim Green, her great grandson Brandon Hein, her son Edward Tavender, and by her brothers George Clark and Jim Clark. Mom enjoyed being a meticulous housekeeper and was a superb cook and baker. She spent time helping Dad run Green’s Drugstore for over 20 years, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Summerland Hospital Auxiliary, and an active member of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church. Mom enjoyed her house and yard, flower arranging, knitting and crocheting, reading and she appreciated nice things. Mom has been described as being a very classy, gracious lady by those who knew her. Thanks for all the beautiful memories, Mom. We love you. A memorial service for Isabell will be held on Saturday, January 21st at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, 9311 Prairie Valley Road, Summerland at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
