Iris Lamothe (née McNamara), 70, of Summerland, BC, passed away in Penticton Regional Hospital of respiratory and cardiac complications.
Iris was born in Edmonton, Alberta on July 26, 1951. She grew up in a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins in Boyle, Alberta until her family moved to Bonnyville, Alberta to open a family business.
It was in Bonnyville where Iris met her husband, Raymond, whom she married on June 20th, 1970, at St. Joseph's Basilica in Edmonton. She worked as a legal secretary at an Edmonton law firm until starting her family, then moved to the Okanagan in 1979.
Iris is preceded in death by her father John, her mother Ena (née Burke), her brother David, and her nephew Lance.
Iris is survived by Raymond, her husband of 51 years; daughters Monique and Rachelle, and son Marcel (Lynsey Sargeant); sisters Carol (Dave Sterling), and Colleen (Ken Klem); nephews Ryan, Scott, Eric, and Andrew, as well as nieces Vicki, Maggie, Kelly, Laura, Sarah, and Lisa; grandchildren Isabelle, Zachary and Desmond Porter of Summerland BC, and Lucien and Elise Lamothe of Newport, England.
Iris took joy in spending time with her family, her involvement with Sorority, reading to her grandchildren, cruising with Raymond in the SSR, and phone conversations with loved ones far away.
