Born in England on March 18, 1936 died at the Dr. Andrew Pavilion in Summerland on October 9, 2019. She is survived by her two sons: Glenn and Scott (Lisa); one granddaughter Beth (John); one great grandson Colby; brother David (Sandra) Whitford and nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by her parents William and Elsie Whitford.
Irene will be remembered as a kind woman who was always sensitive to the needs of others ahead of her own. She took great joy in the many crafts she was passionate about and also became an enthusiastic fisherwoman. Many will remember her for finding a good bargain at the 2nd hand shops and the stylish outfits she would make for herself and her friends. At her wish, there will be no service.
