Her mother Gwendolyn was widowed in 1932 and raised Auntie, her sister and two brothers on the family orchard through the depression and war years. Like many of her generation, she kept the habits of hard work and prudence through her whole life. She was a devoted wife and daughter, caring for her mother at her house until she passed away at 102 and for her husband Bill for many years while he was frail. A Memorial Service was held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 13 at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Summerland, followed by a reception and a light lunch at the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences may be directed to the family by email: summerlandfuneralhome@vip.net.
