July 8, 1947 - November 26, 2021
Gordon Maynard Greber, age 74, went home to the Lord on November 26, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Summerland, British Columbia on July 8, 1947, to the late Walter and Charlotte Greber, Gordon studied at Trinity Western University where he met Sharman Lee Anderson who would become his beloved wife of 53 years. They moved to the United States where they raised two daughters and Gordon pursued a career in the health care industry.
Gordon will always be remembered for the joy he brought to others' lives. Singing and playing guitar in church, quartets, and hootenannies, he blessed us with his lifelong gift of music. His resonant Bass-baritone voice and twelve-string guitar brought people together with classics like Christ Is All, Wedding Song, and most anything written by Gordon Lightfoot. He also kept us smiling - and erupting in laughter - through his playful humor and storytelling.
Most of all, we remember Gordon's appreciation for simple pleasures, which helped us all see the world with fresh eyes. Whether he was grilling salmon for a family dinner, painting a mountainside with watercolors, or diving headfirst into the ocean, he did it with a full heart and an irrepressible enthusiasm. His love for travel led him to numerous ports of call, yet his most treasured adventures by far were his annual visits back to Trout Creek.
Gordon was survived by his wife Sharman, daughters Lori Drake (Jeffery) and Amy Greber, granddaughters Amanda and Kaitlin Drake, sister Rita Hutchinson (Chuck), niece Robyn Peters (Dave) and nephew Scott Hutchinson (Sue).
A Celebration of Gordon's Life will be held this summer.
