On April 17, 2020, at the age of 88 years old, Gertrude Gertie Miller, with her daughters by her side, was carried away in the arms of angels to be with her Lord.
She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her daughters Carol (Bob) Bieler and Penelope (Ron) Walker; her granddaughter Demaris Walker; members of her extended family; friends; and her amazing neighbors who were like family to her.
Sadly, predeceased by her parents, sister, brother, and loving husband Robert Lewis Miller.
Filled with the light and love of the Lord in her heart, she touched and fed the lives of many with such a sweetness and kindness. She could always be found in the spring and summer mornings in her own garden tending to the vegetables, herbs, and her famous vibrant zinnias. In the fall, she would share her bountiful harvest with those around. When winter came, Gertie could be found rocking in her chair enjoying the heat of the fire and shelling her walnuts. A celebration of life to be determined and announced at a later date. Memorial tributes in Gertie's name may be donated to the Canadian Red Cross.
