George Bechtold died peacefully at Dr. Andrew Pavilion on April 27th, 2007 in his 97th year. He was predeceased by his wife Helen in 2002. He lives on in the memories of his daughter and son-in-law Kathryn and David McCourt of Summerland and his six remaining sisters and brothers and their families. George worked on the family farm at Irvine and throughout southern Alberta until serving in the Canadian Army in World War II. In 1947, he and Helen moved to Armstrong, BC where they farmed until 1980. They spent their retirement years in Vernon, Oliver, Penticton and Summerland. Special thanks to his sister Elly (and Jim) MacKenzie of Penticton and to the staff at Paraiso Care Home and Dr. Andrew Pavilion for their care and consideration during the past three years.
