Nov 10, 1924 - Mar 31, 2018
Frank Yoshiji Kuroda was born in Summerland, BC. Frank was the youngest of 8 children. His parents, Magozaemon and Tori Kuroda, were pioneer residents of Summerland.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie of 66 years, son Ken (Berva) and grandson Brayden, sisters-in-law Amy Yamabe, Marianna Yamabe, Kathleen Yukawa, brother-in-law Junji Yukawa, and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was an orchardist but made time to enjoy all sports. He was on the Summerland baseball team in the 1940's and '50's, played hockey, bowled, golfed, and curled. He passed on his love of sports to the youngsters in Summerland by coaching minor baseball and minor hockey for many years. There were evenings after ball practice that he was in the orchard changing sprinklers in the dark. He was rewarded for his efforts by being presented with a Testimonial Scroll in 1973 by the Canadian Minor Hockey Association and with the Community Sport Trophy in 2011.

As his health began to deteriorate, Frank and Marjorie moved to the Summerland Seniors Village in 2013 where he lived until his passing. Many thanks to the caring staff there.

A Memorial Service will be held at Providence's Summerland Chapel, 13205 Rosedale Ave., Summerland, BC on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
