Emily Holden's longing for Heaven and Jesus was fulfilled on Sunday, August 20, 2017.
Emily was born December 25, 1924, in Goshen, SK, to John and Emily Mott. Her siblings followed: Marjorie, Laura and Preston. The family moved to Summerland, BC when she was very young.
Emily attended school in Summerland, followed by nurses training at the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC.
She was married to Cecil Holden for 64 years. Together they raised 6 children and moved to Summerland in their retirement in 1990.
Emily was predeceased by her husband, Cecil ( 2014) and her sisters, Marjorie Wright and Laura Barnes. She is survived by her children Joyce (Herb) Frank, Janice (Gerry) Wilms, Bruce (Lee Andra Jacobs) Holden, Marion (Brian) Plester, John Holden, and Ruth (Rob) Rant; brother Preston (Kerry) Mott, sister-in-law, Ruby Rempel, brother-in-law Lyle Barnes, her 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Emily's life will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 2 p.m., at the Summerland Baptist Church, 10318 Elliott St., Summerland, BC.
